POSITION TITLE: Aftercare Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Director of Operations, The Soulsville Charter School
POSITION: The Soulsville Charter School, Part-time regular, exempt
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Aftercare Coordinator has the primary responsibility of running The Soulsville Charter School’s Aftercare Program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that the space is prepared to receive students daily before they arrive.
- Manage the sign in and sign out process with a high degree of accuracy and commitment to safety, adhering to the approved pick up list for each student.
- Administer daily snacks to the students in an efficient and orderly way.
- Maintain a study hall environment with a high degree of discipline and structure.
- Uphold the Commitment to Excellence Agreement.
- Record and track late pickups and report the information to school office.
- Communicate with parents of enrolled students and late pick-ups as necessary.
- Consult with other school staff as necessary to complete the functions of the position.
- Complete assigned administrative tasks related to these functions.
- Utilize preventive discipline methodology with assigned students.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned by the Middle School Director and other TSCS Management.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in education or related field.
- Experience as a classroom teacher or related field, and demonstrated success and ability in working with children.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills, including excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of classroom practices.
- Ability to handle and prioritize tasks within a deadline and with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong follow-through skills for completing duties.
- A strong sense of protocol, tact, and diplomacy and ability to work well with a variety of people and personalities and a willingness to take and utilize constructive feedback.
- An understanding of non-profit organizations, events, and especially youth development missions.
- Enthusiastic self motivation, the ability to motivate others, and little need for direct supervision.
- Desire and ability to work with youth.
- Ability to work with creative people.
- An appreciation of music and various musical styles.
- A commitment to personal professional growth.
- Availability to work flexible hours.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time; ability to lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs; ability to stoop and reach; ability to climb stairs.
- Knowledge of computers and software program (i.e. MS Word, Excel and others) and aptitude and willingness to learn new software programs through hands-on use and self study.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and show proof of liability insurance coverage as required by the laws of the State of Tennessee and be willing and able to obtain an F class endorsement or other endorsements as required.
