The Soulsville Charter School is seeking a full-time Academic Coordinator for the 2021-2022 school year.

 

POSITION TITLE:                   Academic and RTI Coordinator

 

REPORTS TO:             Managing School Director, The Soulsville Charter School

 

POSITION:                              The Soulsville Charter School, full-time regular, exempt

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The ideal candidate will use an understanding of standards-based teaching, learning, and assessment in addition to existing knowledge and experience with data systems and processes to assist The Soulsville Charter School's Academics Team with efficient and effective implementation and assessment of TSCS's academic program.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Serves as 6th-12th Academic coordinator and is responsible for the following:
    • Creates and manages school level academic assessment trackers and data files including SSIA trackers, TVAAS Data Hubs, Math Level Up Trackers, NWEA Reading and Math trackers and MS & HS Academic Pulses
    • Regularly checks teacher course folders for submission of weekly planning documents and assessments and enters data biweekly in the submissions tab of the coaching tracker 
    • Creates a calendar of unit start and end times based on teacher LTPs and shares with all coaches 
    • Creates quarterly and mid-quarter academics awards lists and postings
    • Creates monthly attendance and failures reports and shares with MS & HS Leadership teams, and assists in creation of teacher failure and call logs
    • Is point-person for NWEA & Gradecam and handles initial creation of student rosters, teacher accounts, and set-up as well as updates throughout the year. Is the primary contact for teachers who need assistance with these systems.
    • Organizes the MS & HS Coaching Folders by teacher
    • Manages Academic Calendars including creating calendar events (such as SSIA, PLC and A-Team meeting dates) and sending invites
    • Manages end-of-year book and calculator inventory
    • Manages MS & HS Tutoring & Office Hours Attendance Trackers
    • Researches potential new systems, companies or resources and presents initial findings to the academics team for further review
    • Assists the Deans of Curriculum Instruction, Math Coach, and others, as deemed necessary, with any academic needs
  • Serves as 6th-12th RTI coordinator and is responsible for the following:
    • Assigning all students to RTI groups based on tiers
    • Determining strategies for intervention and and preparing teacher professional development around strategy implementation
    • Running progress monitoring reports every 4.5 weeks to determine RTI strength and growth areas and re-group students if needed.

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
  • Teaching experience
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Google Spreadsheet

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong follow-through skills for completing projects.
  • A strong sense of protocol, tact, and diplomacy and ability to work well with a variety of people and personalities and a willingness to take and utilize constructive feedback.
  • An understanding of non-profit organizations, events, and especially youth development missions.
  • Enthusiastic self motivation, the ability to motivate others, and little need for direct supervision..
  • An appreciation of music and various musical styles.
  • Availability to work flexible hours
  • Knowledge of computers and software programs (i.e. MS Word, Excel and others) and aptitude and willingness to learn new software programs through hands-on use and self study.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and show proof of liability insurance coverage as required by the laws of the State of Tennessee.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a “team player.”

The Soulsville Charter School (TSCS)’s mission is to prepare students for success in college and life in an academically rigorous, music-rich environment.
